We’ve had quite a year of film activity in Nebraska this year. The independent film/digital media scene is alive and well across the state. Many of these films have been seen at various film festivals across the state and country. We are very proud of our creative people who are pursuing their passion right here in Nebraska. Alexander Payne’s NEBRASKA has had a tremendous roll out from Paramount Vantage Productions and Bona Fide Productions. The movie has been screened worldwide and is receiving numerous accolades and awards. The director, screenplay and actors have all been nominated by various media organizations and industry professionals. The film has had a major impact on branding for Nebraska. The movie is not, however, about Nebraska. It is the story of a young man’s journey to find himself through learning to know his father.
Will Forte and Bruce Dern give exemplary performances that are not going unnoticed. June Squibb and Bob Odenkirk add to the stellar quality with equally impressive interpretations of their characters. Local reactions to the film have been up.
